


In Training, players can test out fighters in various stages provided in the game. These Bonuses are awarded based on damage done and time remaining, with extra bonuses. Score is kept over the course of Classic Mode and is awarded at the end of a match through Bonuses. If players lose all of their lives, the game is over, and players may choose to continue however, half of their current scores are deducted. As in SSBU, the boss of the final stage is not always Master Hand or Crazy Hand, as each character will face someone else at the end of their route.īefore starting, players can set the number of lives (from 1 to 5), and the difficulty (from Very Easy to Very Hard).

In Classic Mode, one or two players must fight their way through a series of matches, while also participating in bonus rounds. Battles can be played either in free-for-all, or in teams. In Crusade, up to 6 players can fight against each other under various rules which can be adjusted at the fighter selection screen.

They are broadly classified into Crusade Stage and Classic Stage, but some stages are not classified correctly. Crusade features 71 stages to fight on, including both the original ones in this title and those from the official Smash Bros. series, but due to the timing of their entry, several of them have completely different attributions for example, the dog from Duck Hunt fights alone. 37 have also appeared in the official Super Smash Bros. Game & Watch (Classic), Lucario (No Aura), Little Mac (Wii U), Shantae's forms, and Greymon are counted as separate). The cast features 72 playable characters (83 if Link (Hidden Skills), Popo/Nana (Solo), Marth (Spread), Marth (Centered), Mr. series, as well as other platform fighters, but it has other elements taken from other traditional fighting games.
